Leavenworth anglers place third in KBN four man team tournament on Wilson Reservoir.

The KBN held the second half of its four man team tournament on Oct 20 and 21 at Wilson reservoir. The four man team consisted of Larry Stoafer, Garrett Cates, Bill Gevedon, and Ray Hillebrand.

The first day it was a struggle to find and catch fish as the team combined came to the weigh in with a little over 10lbs. We discussed the situation Saturday night and went the next morning (day two) expecting much of the same. The wind was out of the southwest at 30 mph gusting. The morning run was a little cool and wet but we made to our spot without much adoo. Fishing started out slow until a pattern was recognized and we got on em pretty good.

Both teams  came into the weigh in with 5 fish limits and those combined weighed over 30lbs.

Upon completion of the weigh in the team came in 3rd place with a little over 44 lbs combined weight for both days. Of the top four two teams were from Salina, one team from Leavenworth, and one team from Hays. We were able to compete against the anglers on their own lake.

Congratulations on their third place finish on a very tough lake to catch fish on.
