The next club meeting will be on October 2nd, 2017 The meeting will be at the Rod and Gun clubhouse. We will be discussing the year end awards & electing new officers for the 2017-2018 year.

Welcome: The Leavenworth Bass Club held its monthly meeting on September 11th at the Ft Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club. There were 21 members present. The vice president called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Secretary Report:
- The August newsletter was emailed to all current members and posted on the web site.
- The Secretary’s report was approved as read.
Treasurer Report:
- LBC checking account beginning balance is $6,718.27 and the ending balance is $7,254,77. The Fishing For Freedom beginning balance is $32,738.64 and the ending balance is $32,732.37. Pay Pal has $1,164.00.
- The Treasurer’s report was approved as read.
Conservation Committee Report: None.
Youth Director Report:
- The Kansas Bass nation is raffling off Brent Chapman’s boat and Fishing’s Future (Bill is the KS state coordinator) is one of the recipients of the raffle. This organization provides the equipment we use at our Fishing for Freedom event and numerous kid’s events we support. Please go to

- Bill will attend the next meeting of the NWMSU fishing club in Maryville. All club members are invited to ride along. Contact Bill if you want to attend.
Banquet Committee: Mike Brooks says we’re having a banquet on January 20th, 2018.
Webmaster Report: Brent has added the latest newsletter and tournament results.
Vice President Report:
- Anyone needing the post access pass needs to renew now. See Larry.
- The MOBASS state team tournament will be held at Truman on 28-29 October. We will have a 10 man team (5 boaters and 5 co-anglers).
- Mike Brooks and Steve Read volunteered to attend the next MOBASS meeting.

Fishing for Freedom:
- We are still short boats to support the number of wounded warriors that have signed up. If any club members or any of our friends can help, please go to :

- If any club member need a place to stay, contact Bill Horvath. There are a few open beds in the Lodge at Hickory Hollow available, first come, ………

New Members: We have two new members who attended the meeting and will officially join in October to start the new year. Jack Millar and Greg Oehring were voted in by the members present. And, Carl Chasteen, a previous member has returned to Ft Leavenworth for another tour and will also join in October. Welcome to Jack, Greg and Carl !!!

Tournament Director’s Report:
- The next tournament is the year end Classic at Truman on September 23rd & 24th. Truman is completely off limits from midnight Sunday, September 17th thru Thursday the 21st. Prefishing is only allowed on Friday the 22nd. Trailering is allowed. Weigh in both days will be at the Long Shoal Corps ramp at 3:00 PM both days.
- The club members present voted to budget $200.00 per boat for the Classic.
- There will be a community cookout on Saturday, at Grand River, time will be announced at Saturday’s weigh in. Bob Jorgensen is providing venison and elk for everyone.
- Very generous and a BIG thank you to Bob.
- Mark will provide side dishes.

Larry Stoafer led a lively discussion on a list of ethics issues suggested by the club members present. We discussed money, boat positioning, sharing/not sharing secret spots, and several other hot button issues. Most members came away with agreement that most issues that arise between boats & co-anglers are caused by a lack of communications between them
