Vice President Report: No program for tonight’s meeting, but Randy is soliciting topics for future meetings.

President Report:   None.

Fishing for Freedom:  The event was a terrific success with over 140 warriors paired with volunteer boaters, all supported by close to 100 other volunteers.

Old Business:

  • From previous discussions the members continued talking about what we would give as the awards for this year’s upcoming banquet.
  • After a lively discussion that did not involve any bloodshed, we voted to award club jerseys with the specific awards sublimated on them. Bill Gevedon volunteered to coordinate the action.

New Business:  None.

New Members:

  • Ray Cates discussed the possibility of a young man, 17 years old, with his own boat, wanting to join the club.
  • The members discussed some of the issues and agreed that the By-Laws allowed him to join, but would require parental guidance on possible emergency health care.

New Equipment Report: Bill talked about his new Phoenix 819 from Ozawkie Marine which will make its debut at Pomme de Terre.

Outside Activities:

  • Larry Stoafer fished the Costa FLW series final at Kentucky Lake, almost besting a field of 192 boats and took 3rd

  • The club had 10 members fish the MOBASS Qualifier in an attempt to become members of the MO state team. The tournament was on Truman lake but none of the LBC members succeed. Steve Clark almost made the state team as a co-angler with one 5+ lb. fish.  Good try, the LBC team had a good time and will be back next year.

  • Congrats to both Ray and Larry.

Alibis:

Tournament Director:

  • The tournament committee met and proposed only one change to the tournament rules: reversing the order of the launch for all two day events except the Classic.  The club voted to  make the change.
