The next monthly Club meeting is on Monday 6 June 2011, at the Fort Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club. Announcement: Just a reminder that our website is out there for all members to use, so get out there and check it out. If you have anything that you would like to see on the website, please let Travis Perret know. The website is located at the following address: http://www.theleavenworthbassclub.org/.

Also, please inform Travis and Bob concerning your buddies for the upcoming Buddy Tournaments so the rosters can be posted and updated accordingly. This will allow folks looking for partners to figure out who might be available to fish in a given tournament. Additionally, please check to make sure your personal information is correct on the webpage. If your information is not correct, please notify Larry to ensure we have the most current information on the club rosters and he will get the webmaster the correct information.

For all of you that missed the May meeting, you missed a chance to win a free entry into a 2011 season tournament and a chance to win a raffle. Just remember, you cannot affect any club decisions or win a free entry into a tournament if you do not show up for the meetings! Be sure to plan to attend the June meeting. Come early and join us around the bar.

The 2 May 2011 General Membership Meeting Minutes follows:

WELCOME

Secretary’s Report: The secretary informed everyone that the minutes for the April 2011 general membership meeting were e-mailed to all members that have e-mail and were posted to the club website. The minutes from the April 2011 general membership meeting were approved as written.
2011 dues have not changed from last year; they are $65 total ($30 national federation, $30 state federation, $5 LBC). Membership dues must be paid in full prior to fishing any 2011 season tournaments with the club. Make all checks payable to The Leavenworth Bass Club for the full amount. We currently have 40 (2011 dues paid) members.

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer reported a beginning balance of $2,778.53 and a current balance of $2493.53 with expenditures of $1280 and deposits of $995. The Treasurer reported a beginning balance of $5574.28 in the Fishing for Freedom account with a current balance of $5971.63 with expenditures of $.65 and deposits of $398. The Fishing For Freedom PayPal account has a current balance of $263.70. The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.

Conservation Committee: Dan Senterfitt discussed a potential conservation project for 2011. The KDWP could use the clubs help in putting structure into Leavenworth State lake. We are targeting 10 September 201. We will need 11-12 volunteers, 3 pick-up trucks, and a front end loader. Dave C has volunteered his loader and the club members present approved a motion to fill Dave’s tractor with gas. Dan will coordinate the rest of the details and brief the club in the coming months.

Youth Committee: Bill Horvath thanked everyone who supported the Northwest Missouri State University (NWMSU) bass club seminars and tournament. Discussion arose about next year trying to give the winners something like tackle or trophies. Bill H will look at the idea for next year.

Cabelas has contacted the club requesting our support on 18 Jun for the annual Cabelas Kid’s fishing day. We will need 6-12 volunteers if you can make it please let Bill H know.

Banquet Committee: No report.

Webmaster: Travis reported progress on the new site was proceeding well and most of the information should be on the new website by next month’s meeting. Travis will post a link in the forum of the old site for members to comment on the look and content of the new site before it goes live. The hosting and development fees have been paid.

Vice President’s report: The 2nd place winner of the Big Cannon trip was Rodney Bledsoe and he cannot take the trip. The third place member needs to step forward prior to the 15 June Truman tournament or a new drawing for the Big cannon trip will take place from the 2010 member list. Dan requested club member assistance in helping out a local Boy Scout troop receive their fishing merit badge on 26 jun. If you are available please contact Dan S.

President’s Report: The president led a discussion on the need to make sure we do everything in our power to get all the non-boaters who want to fish a seat in the tournaments. The club members agreed it is essential to do all we can to keep the non-boaters fishing including boaters separating in buddy tournaments when non-boaters need a backseat. Additionally, discussed getting the buddy team pairing roster up posted on the website like in the past.
