Welcome: The Leavenworth Bass Club held its monthly meeting on May 1st at the Ft Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club.  There were 21 members present. The president called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.


Secretary Report:  The April newsletter was emailed to all members. The secretary report was approved as presented.


Treasurer Report: 

  • LBC checking account beginning balance is $5255.71 and the ending balance is $6,115.71. The Fishing For Freedom beginning balance is $16,454.04 and the ending balance is $20,454.04. Pay Pal has $630.55.
  • The Treasurer’s report was approved as read.


Conservation Committee Report:  Eric asks all of us to  bring in our used plastics for the June or July meeting.


Youth Director Report:

  • The Kansas Bass nation is raffling off Brent Chapman’s boat and Fishing’s Future (Bill is the KS state coordinator) is one of the recipients of the raffle. This organization provides the equipment we use at our Fishing for Freedom event and numerous kid’s events we support. Please go to for more detail. Only 1000 tickets @ $100 each will be sold.

  • Thanks to all the folks who assisted at the Leavenworth Parks & Rec fishing derby at 80 Acres Lake on May 13th, and the Rod & Gun Club Fishing Derby at Smith Lake on May 20th.


  • Banquet Committee: Mike Brooks says we’re having a banquet on January 20th,  2018.


Webmaster Report: No report.


Vice President Report: Larry is selling tickets for the MOBASS raffle.


President Report:   Dennis discussed the possibility of capturing each members medical information for emergency use only. The members present discussed this and generally agreed it’s a good idea. A form will be developed and will be passed out at a future meeting.


Fishing for Freedom: There will be a new location for the Saturday night banquet to this year, at the Leesville Elementary School, 823 SE Highway 7 in Clinton, MO.

Regatta permit shows a 5:45 AM Launch and 3:00 PM weigh-in at W Ramp, Smithville Lake.   The park & launch fee is $17.00
