The General Membership Meeting Minutes follows:
The Leavenworth Bass Club held its regular monthly meeting on May 5th at the Fort Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club Clubhouse. There were 18 members present. The president called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes for April 2014 were approved as written. They were e-mailed to all members and were posted to the club website.
The most current roster was passed around and several changes were made. If you have ANY changes or corrections for the roster, pass them along to the secretary.
If any of our family members passes on, please let the secretary know so a sympathy card or flowers, if appropriate, can be sent.
Treasurer’s Report: The treasurer reported a beginning balance of $2771.11 and a current balance of $3,901.11. The Fishing for Freedom account has a current balance of $19,953.54, ending balance is $17,868.54 . The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.

Conservation Committee Report: Another 18 pound box of used plastic lures was mailed to Whopper Baits on April 30th. The club has recycled about 72 pounds of used plastics since it started this program in Dec 2012. Thanks to everyone that has participated in the program.

Our recycling program got some publicity in SE Kansas on April 25th. Mr. Phil Taunton, who hosts a program on the radio station “KVOE” in Emporia, interviewed Bobby Keenom of Whopper Baits and discussed his part in recycling plastic lures. Bobby gave our club credit for coming up with the idea to recycle plastic lures and supporting the NWMSU Fishing Club.

Youth Committee Report: There will be a Kid’s Fishing Derby on May 10th at 80 Acres Park (formerly Doolittle Farms) sponsored by the Leavenworth Parks and Recreation Division. Our club will provide assistance and members are encouraged to assist.

There will be another Kid’s Instructor certification class on May 17th 9:00 AM till about noon at Lake Henry, Clinton St Park. If interested, contact the youth chairman.

As part of the tournament at Mozingo on May 3rd, nine students from NWMSU fished with us in a separate tournament. Tyler Shaffer took 1st place and big bass trophies, 2nd went to Derek Maclachlan, and Andrew Nordbye was 3rd. Congrats to our friends at NWMSU and hope to see many of you again next year. The tournament committee is working on a plan for a team tournament next year.

Banquet Committee Report: John Matthews bas volunteered to lead the 2914 Banquet Committee. Thanks John and look for lots of support from the membership.
Webmaster Report: No report

Vice President’s Report: Steve still has tickets for the MOBASS raffle. We need to sell them all before the July MOBASS meeting. See Steve at Grand or the next meeting.

if you have any suggestions for programs for future meetings please pass them along to Steve.

President’s Report: Mike was asked about the status of getting new club jerseys for those members who would like one. He will be placing the order soon so contact Mike if interested.
OLD BUSINESS: Randy said the 2nd set of scales will be turned in for repair in the near future.
NEW BUSINESS: The Fishing for Freedom committee had a meeting April 30th and Larry reported all seems to be on track. The rumor about the band Fog Hat playing at the banquet next October was cleared up – no Fog Hat.
The president thanked Brent for coming to another meeting, and the rest of us harassed him about fishing his 1st tournament with the club, and sounding putting a whipping on us at Mozingo.

There were no by law or tournament rules proposed for changes.
New Members: there were no new members present this month.
