Youth Director Report: Several events are scheduled in the next few months. Please take a close look at your calendar and let Bill know where you can help. Some great opportunities for new members to participate in these youth events.

  • The NWMSU Fishing Club asked us to  present a class on using jigs and plastics on February 22nd.
  • Also, we will do “Fish Stakes” on March 28th. If you can help, we need about 4 people to cover it. Let Bill know if you can help.
  • There is a Bearcat Open scheduled for April 1st (no foolin’) at Mozingo. Hopefully there will be several members of their fishing club who would like to pair up with one of us for the tournament. More information will be provided at our March meeting, but if you think you can provide a boat, let Bill know.
  • Cabela’s has asked us to  conduct a casting kids contest on April 8th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the store in Kansas City. We need about 8-10 volunteers to instruct, keep score and register the kids. As always, lunch will be provided, along with the vendor’s discount to all who help.  Contact Bill if you can help.
  • The Kansas Bass nation is raffling off Brent Chapman’s boat and Fishing’s Future (Bill is the KS state coordinator) is one of the recipients of the raffle. This organization provides the equipment we use at our Fishing for Freedom event and numerous kid’s events we support. Please go to
