The General membership Meeting Minutes follow:

Welcome: The Leavenworth Bass Club held its monthly meeting on the 2nd of February, 2015 at the Ft Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club.  There were 16 members present, including our newest member, Eric Verburg. The president called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Secretary’s Report:  The current member roster was sent out earlier this month. Please check your information and if anything is not correct, let me know and I’ll fix it.

Bob Greene suggested we add two discussion points to the meeting agenda:

  • Discuss new equipment for anyone to share info on the latest gadget they discovered
  • Other activities outside club events, like other tournaments circuits, or….

Will send a current copy of our club By Laws to BASS.

Treasurer’s Report:   Kenny reports that the club checking account had a starting balance of $2,911.19 and an ending balance of $2, 550.82. The Fishing for Freedom checking account had a beginning balance of $25,852.94 and ending balance of $26, 523.80. PAYPAL account was unchanged with a balance of $96.27. The Treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

Conservation Committee Report: Dan sent 2 boxes/about 33 lbs. to Whopper Baits for recycling, and, passed some recycled lures to the NWMSU Fishing Club and the MO. Youth coordinator.

Youth Committee Report:  Several upcoming events for youth:

  • Casting Kids event at Cabela’s on March 29th from 12:30 till 3:00 PM. This is unfortunately during our tournament at Stockton. If anyone not fishing at Stockton can help, please let me know. Spouses welcomed too. Need about 10 people to do this one.
  • We will support Earth Day at the Topeka Zoo on April 18th doing some backyard bassin’ and pitching/flipping demonstrations. Looking for volunteers to help.
  • The NWMSU will host their “Bearcat Open” at Mozingo on March 28th, also during the Stockton tournament. They could use boat support from anyone not fishing at Stockton.

More information on these events at the March meeting.

Banquet Committee Report:  John has volunteered to be the banquet chairman again for the 2016 event. He passed out a request for critique at the meeting, asking members to help him make it better for next year. Please fill it out and send it to John. Copies will be available at the March meeting also.

There was a problem with one of the award shirts (wrong size). A new shirt was purchased and is being embroidered by Ray.

Webmaster Report:  Brett reports he is still trying to get angler profiles updated on the web site. Update or turn one in on the forms he distributed at the meeting or he is offering to make up unflattering things with an ugly picture for you. Brett can help if you have problems logging into the web site.

If you have suggestions for the web site, contact Brent, and if you need a password for the forum, contact Brent.

Vice President’s Report:  Larry reports:

  • Bob Greene will give a presentation on jerkbaits after the March meeting. If you are fishing Stockton or Table Rock, this could be terrific and timely information.
  • Larry has collected requests for the annual visitor pass for most of the non-ID members that will allow you onto the post for the next year. If you have not filled out the request, contact Larry for assistance.
  • The next MOBASS meeting is on 18 April, vicinity of Pomme de Terre. Se the MOBASS web site for more information
  • Still selling tickets for an HDS 9 with side scan, as a fund raiser for TBF, which will be raffled off in April next year.
  • Tickets still available for the MOBASS raffle too
  • Larry thanked the club members who assisted The Rod and Gun Club in planting “fish trees” in Smith lake. Boys playing in the mud had fun.
