Old Business:
- The members present discussed which club events count toward the number of tickets a member earns for the bigger prize drawings at the annual banquet. Another lively discussion followed and the members present determined that any club event which is open to ALL members, would count. The tally for 2015 as an example, was provided to all members in a separate mailing.
- The final lively discussion concerned determining what the award would be for the next (2016) tournament year. Ideally it could be announced prior to the 1st tournament of the year so all members would know what they might be fishing for, but after another (lively) discussion, the members present decided NOT to announce the selected award until closer to the end of the tournament year, due to the uncertainty of what a sponsor may or may not choose to donate.
New Business: None.
By-Law changes. We discussed the proposal to change the bylaws on how we determine “who” is eligible to hold office. The proposed change for SECTION 6: ELIGABILITY FOR HOLDING OFFICE read as:
(b) Have attended at least 50% of all regular chapter functions for the preceding year.
The club members present discussed the proposal in lively detail, and the vote was NOT to accept the proposed change. The committee of Bill Horvath, Larry Stoafer and Bill Gevedon suggested changing the same section to read:
Section 6: Eligibility for Holding Office
To be eligible for an office, a member must:
- Have paid dues prior to the first tournament of that year.
- Have attended at least 50% of all chapter functions for the preceding year.
- If an officer does not attend 75% of the club meetings and 75% of the chapter functions, the Board of Directors can vote him out.
- Have shown an active interest in all chapter functions.
- No member on probation shall be allowed to serve as an officer or on a committee.
This change will be discussed and voted on at the February meeting.
New Members: Welcome to Mark Stadel as the third new member for the 2016 tournament year. Mark’s sponsor is Bill Gevedon. Mark is an avid hunter and fisherman. Welcome to the club, Mark
