Please note, the next regular club meeting will be on September 8th, 2014 since the first Monday is Labor Day. The grills will be ready at 6:00 PM for you to cook your steaks, hamburgers or whatever you want to bring. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM. Just remember, you cannot affect any club decisions or win a free entry into a tournament, if you do not show up for the meetings! Come early and join us around the bar.

The General Membership Meeting Minutes follows:
WELCOME: The Leavenworth Bass Club held its regular monthly meeting on August 4th, 2014 at the Rod and Gun Clubhouse. There were 18 members present. The President called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes for July 2014 were approved as written. They were e-mailed to all members and were posted to the club website.
If you have ANY changes or corrections for the roster, pass them along to the secretary.
Treasurer’s Report: The Club checking account had a starting balance of $23,577.01and an ending balance of $4987.87 The Fishing for Freedom checking account had a starting balance of $23,577.01 and an ending balance of $31,821.6, and the PAYPAL account has a balance of $582.00. The Treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

Conservation Committee Report: No report
Youth Committee Report: Two members and one alumnus (Don Burleson) supported the Mel Hendrick Fishing Derby on July 12th. Thanks to Dan Senterfitt and Frank Carroll and Don for working this event for us. We have asked the commissioners to try to give us more than a week’s notice in follow on years so we can better plan to support this very worthwhile event.
Banquet Committee Report: The previous banquet lead said he’s building a booklet for the tasks to be completed.

Webmaster Report: No report, but a request was made to get the current roster posted on the website.

Vice President’s Report: Last month’s meeting at Mondo Tackle was a success. If anyone has ideas for other locations, we can do this again in the future at other sites.

Old Business: None.
New Business: A proposal was made to do some fishing instruction for the warriors at Long Shoal Marina on Oct 11th as part of Fishing for Freedom, prior to that evening’s banquet. Possible topics could include casting, pitching and flipping instructions, rigging a rod and reel, Fish ID & measuring, etc. Need a volunteer to be in charge and a few club members to assist. If anyone is interested in helping, talk to Larry.
FFF Report- Everything is proceeding according to plan. 200 warriors signed up so far, usually 20% will not show or cancel. Around 80 boaters so far. More boaters are needed. Go to the website and register if you have not registered as a volunteer.
Congratulations to Garrett Cates and his partner representing K-State for their strong finish at the college championship this week down in Georgia. They ended up in 11th place out of 84 teams. They had 3 fish for 18.0 pounds. Pretty good average and they missed the cut by a little over 3lbs
By-Law changes. There was a proposal and discussion to add a description of the awards for the annual banquet. After discussion, the following information would be added at the end of “Annual Awards” if approved at the next meeting:
1. Top Ten: The Top Ten anglers are designated as a result of the points each has earned over the course of a single tournament year. Points will reflect the anglers best 7 of 9, 8 of 10, 9 of 11 etc.. tournaments. The anglers will be ranked in order from the highest number of points being designated at first place through the tenth place angler.
2. Guide Of The Year: The angler massing the largest total of “Guide Points” for the anglers best 7 of 9, 8 of 10, 9 of 11 etc. tournaments.
3. Co-Angler Of The Year: The points each has earned over the course of a single tournament year determine standings. Points will reflect the co-anglers best 7 of 9, 8 of 10, 9 of 11 etc tournaments. The co-anglers will be ranked in order from the highest number of points to the lowest.
4. Rookie Of The Year; (Rookie) Any member that joins the club after the second tournament and has an opportunity to fish at least 7 of 9, 8 of 10, 9 of 11 etc. tournaments is considered a rookie for that year. If not, his rookie year would be the next year.

TX Results for the July 19th tournament at Mozingo:
1st Rich Pearl, 15.27 Lbs using frogs, a Ned rig and a Lucky 13and the only 5 fish limit.
2nd Bill Gevedon, 13.36 Lbs w/4 fish on a Spook and buzz bait in the grass.
3rd Larry Stoafer, 11.28 Lbs in brush w/big worms
4th Mike Brooks, 9.74 Lbs, big worms in grass and trees
5th Bob Greene, 8.02 Lbs on frogs in the grass, all day

The next tournament is a draw at Truman, August 16th & 17th. Trailering is allowed. Weigh-in both days will be at the Long Shoal COE ramp.
August 16th First Session: Takeoff time is 6:00 AM or safe light (Sunrise 6:33). Weigh-in at 11:00 AM with up to your normal 6 fish in the live well, 5 fish weigh-in. Remember, No Culling in August !!!!
Around 12:30-1:00 PM, Group BBQ at RC Adventures
August 16th Second Session: Takeoff time 4:00 PM, weigh-in at 8:15 PM. (Sunset 8:15). Maximum allowed in the live well for all of Saturday (both sessions) is 6 fish. You can weigh-in additional keepers, up to 5 fish for all of Saturday, counting the morning session
If you have no legal fish (15”) you will count your best 5 fish for all of Saturday.
August 17th Third Session: Takeoff is 6:00 AM, weigh-in at 12:00 noon. Normal limits apply.
Tournament standings are determined by the total of all 3 sessions in either weight or points.
