The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM.  Announcement: Just a reminder that our website is out there for all members to use, so get out there and check it out.  If you have anything that you would like to see on the website, please let Travis Perret know.  The website is located at the following address: http://theleavenworthbassclub.org/.  Also, please inform Travis and Bob concerning your partners for the upcoming Buddy Tournaments so the rosters can be posted and updated accordingly.  This will allow folks looking for partners to figure out who might be available to fish in a given tournament.  Additionally, please check to make sure your personal information is correct on the webpage.  If your information is not correct, please notify Larry to ensure we have the most current information on the club rosters and he will get the webmaster the correct information.

For all of you that missed the August meeting, you missed a chance to win a free entry into a 2011 season tournament.  Just remember, you cannot affect any club decisions or win a free entry into a tournament, if you do not show up for the meetings! Be sure to plan to attend the September meeting.  Come early and join us around the bar.

The 1 August 2011 General Membership Meeting Minutes follows:

WELCOME

The Leavenworth Bass Club held its regular monthly meeting on 1 August 2011 at the Fort Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club Clubhouse.  There were 23 members and 1 guest present. The president called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Secretary’s Report: The secretary informed everyone that the minutes for the July 2011 general membership meeting were e-mailed to all members that have e-mail and were posted to the club website. The minutes from the July 2011 general membership meeting were approved as written.  We currently have 42 active (2011 dues paid) members.

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer reported a beginning balance of $3187.25 and a current balance of $3,552.25 with expenditures of $260 and deposits of $625. The Treasurer reported a beginning balance of $17,053.29 in the Fishing for Freedom account with a current balance of $17,909.29 with expenditures of $630 and deposits of $1486.00. The Fishing For Freedom PayPal account has a current balance of $282.82. The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.

Conservation Committee: Dan Senterfitt confirmed our 2011 conservation project will be 10 Sep 2011 at Leavenworth State Lake. We will need 11-12 volunteers, 3 pick-up trucks, and a front end loader to help emplace brush piles. Please mark your calendar and let Dan know if you will be available. Bob J commented that he had received a report that the Leavenworth State Lake had to many brush piles in it. Dan said he would look in to it and discuss it with the KDWP biologist.

Youth Committee: Dan S reported for Bill Horvath that 3 members of the LBC attended the Leavenworth County Kid’s fishing derby on 9 July at Jerry’s lake at the intersection of Pennsylvania ave and Garland in Leavenworth. The LBC members acted as the weigh masters for approximately 50 kids that participated in the event. Dan mentioned a potential conservation project at the private lake. The owner was requesting help building a handicap dock to support the kids Derby. The members present discussed the idea but the consensus was it was not a good idea since the lake was a private lake.

Banquet Committee: No report.

Webmaster: Travis reported the new website is online and progress on moving content was proceeding well and he is working with Ray and Steve to pull over the archived files from the old website. You must register the first time to use the forum.  Please let Travis know if you have any ideas on content.

KBFN officer 2012 election: There was significant discussion about the state federation officers that the club would support in the upcoming election in Sep 2011. Tournament Director’s Report: Bob announced the official results of the 16 July Mozingo draw tournament and the launch order and pairings for the 27& 28 Aug buddy tournaments at Mozingo. There was significant discussion reference fish care. The tournament committee is working options and will decide in the coming weeks if the Aug tournaments will be card tournament or shorter days. However, individual responsibility is still the key to conservation ice, chemicals, sufficient water in the weigh in bags, and limiting stress like picture taking in the summer months are all important.
