Conservation Committee Report:

  • Dan  thanked all the members who showed up at Middle Creek to help place 20 Georgia Cubes in the lake.
  • Dan reminded all of us that we need to find his replacement as he will continue to serve until our election of new Officers.  This would be a great opportunity for any member who has not yet held a committee assignment.

Youth Director Report:

  • Bill Mason, a previous member of the club has donated numerous rods/reels, soft and hard baits, plus various fishing equipment for use by youth or, as a donation to a new member without a lot of equipment. Several reels were delivered to Dennis for cleaning and repair, and the other items are stored in the Rod and Gun Club maintenance facility. The club will need to decide what to do with the equipment.
  • Received a letter from a family that attended the County Commissioners KFD last month, thanking Frank Carroll for helping them. I’ll bring the letter to the next meeting.

Banquet Committee Report:  Kenny Smith has resigned as the banquet chairman due to personal issues. Mike Brooks has stepped up to volunteer to do it. Mike can count on lots of help from other club members..

Webmaster Report: Brent has been updating the website and will continue to do so with posting of new pictures.

Vice President Report:

  • Larry reminded the members present that there is a quarterly MOBASS meeting on September 17th at Pomme de Terre. Bill Gevedon and Steve Clark volunteered to attend.
  • Larry also thanked the club members who joined with Ft Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club members to plant fish tree and Georgia Cubes in both Smith and Merritt lakes on post.
  • Larry also discussed needing club support to improve the Missouri access ramp under the blue bridge.
  • Still need to identify a guest speaker for October to talk about successful strategy for multi day tournaments
  • The membership cards for the Rod and Gun Club expire the end of July and will need to be renewed. If you are a member and need to renew so you still have post access, see Larry for the paperwork.
