The next club meeting will be April 30th so we can have a meeting before the May trip to Table Rock.

Welcome: The Leavenworth Bass Club held its monthly meeting on April 2nd at the Ft Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club. There were 23 members present. The President called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Secretary Report:
- The March 2018 newsletter was emailed to all current members and posted on the web site. The Secretary’s report was approved as read.
- Ken Hackworth’s Mother in Law died in late March. A sympathy card was sent and donations made to Bluegrass Care Navigators (hospice) and God’s Pantry Food Bank in Lexington, KY
Treasurer Report: LBC checking account beginning balance was $3,997.86 and the ending balance is $4,846.86. The Fishing For Freedom account beginning balance was $14,640.81 and the ending balance is $15,640.81. the Pay Pal account has $96.80. The Treasurer’s report was approved as read.
Conservation Committee Report: Big thank you to Eric for coordinating the effort to put the fish structure in Banner Creek on March 10th, Club members, along with those from the Rod & Gun Club also sunk left over Christmas trees in Merritt & Smith Lakes on post the following day. Expect to see a story in the BASS Times in the near future.
Youth Director Report: Waiting to hear the results from the Bearcat Open at Mozingo on April 14th.
Banquet Committee: Mike Brooks said we had a banquet and we will have another one next year.
Webmaster Report: Brent has updated the web site. There are some changes needed so we have the correct sponsors
Vice President Report:
- Randy reported that Dennis would give an overview on Stockton for this month’s presentation.
- Randy suggested we have a swap meet at the next meeting on April 30th. Please bring you used and even new tackle that has never seem sunlight and clean out your stash for cash.
President Report:
- Bob complimented the folks who volunteered to help with Eric’s conservation project.
- Bob talked about the $25 dollar gift cards that Smithville will be donating for each tournament this year. It’s extremely important that the winners actually use the gift cards, or, pass it along to someone who will redeem it. Smithville monitors the return of them and if we don’t cash them in, we may not get any next year.

New Business: The Rod & Gun Club spring bass tournament will be held at Banner Creek on April 22nd. It’s an open tournament so anyone can fish. Cost is 5 bucks for Rod & Gun Club members or anyone who provides a boat for their members, or, 10 bucks for everyone else. Lots of good fishing and plenty of door prizes too.

Outside Activities:
- Ray Cates finished in 19th place out of 185 on the co-angler side at the BASS Nation Central Regional at Toledo Bend in LA. Great results Ray !!
- Bill Horvath attended the Bass Master Classic in South Carolina. Got to see the new aluminum Vexus Boats Steve Clark is so proud of (rightfully so).
- Jim Wyatt and his faithful sidekick Jeff Arndt got 2nd place in a Men of Honor tournament on LOZ, March 25th. Good job guys !!
Alibis: Brent Goss donated some rod socks that he made for the monthly raffle. Thanks, Brent. $21 will be sent to the treasury, proceeds from the raffle.

The free tournament entry was won by Bill Horvath.
The $25 gift cards donated by Smithville Marine were won by Dennis Edwards and Lou Engler.
There being no further official business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30
Dennis Edwards gave a terrific overview or what, where and how to fish at Stockton.
