OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT RULES - MARK TWAIN SPRING OPEN
(Retain These Rules)
1. RULES: The following rules for the tournament will be used. These rules will be interpreted solely by the Tournament Officials and all decisions are final.
2. ELIGIBILITY: All individuals under 18 years of age are required to have written consent from parent or guardian.
3. ENTRY FEE: $100.00 total per boat. This includes a $15.00 Big Bass pot to be split two ways —$10.00 per entry for 1st Big Bass and $5.00 per entry for 2nd Big
Bass. Only one Big Bass win per contestant (team). Contestants are responsible for asking for heaviest fish to be weighed. Entries will be accepted at Launch
ramp, Hwy. 107 Ramp, Mark Twain Lake between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., June 8, 2014. We reserve the right to assign flights and hours if necessary.
**Ramp Fee - A user fee may be required by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at designated ramps.
4. HEADQUARTERS TIME & DATE: HWY 107 Ramp, Mark Twain Lake. Check in at headquarters by 5:30 a.m., June 8, 2014. Fishing time is at 6:00 a.m. or safe
light to 2:00 p.m.
5. LIVE-WELL CHECK: Live-Well checks will be completed at takeoff with both live-well lids open and live wells running. ALL entries must participate in the drive-by
live-well check.
6. DEPARTURE:Will be in sequence in which entry fees are received.
7. TACKLE & EQUIPMENT: Only artificial bait or lures may be used. Pork-style baits are allowed. No trolling. All bass must be caught on rod and reel, during
tournament hours, landed in a live and sporting manner from inside the tournament boat.
8. BOATS & MOTORS: Any boat 14 feet or longer will be accepted if powered by an engine 10 horsepower or more. Boats may not be trailered during tournament
hours. Boats may not have motors which exceed their horsepower rating or their BIA rating plate. All Missouri Department of Conservation laws and regulations
shall apply.
9. SAFETY & SPORTSMANSHIP:
Safe boating and fishing practices must be observed. Life jackets MUST be worn when combustion engine is running and in gear.
All boats must be equipped with some type of operable ignition kill switch safety device. Proof of operable ignition kill switch device will be
required at takeoff.
Use of or possession of alcohol, illegal drugs or drugs (other than those purchased over-the-counter or prescribed by a licensed physician) by
any competitor during the official tournament hours through contestant's weigh-in will not be tolerated and shall be cause for automatic
disqualification.
10. PERMITTED FISHING LOCATIONS: Anywhere on the tournament lake, except where: a.) posted "OFF-LIMITS OR NO FISHING" by state or federal agencies or
areas designated by the tournament committee; or b.) within fifty (50) yards of another contestant's boat at anchor with the trolling motor up. Fishing during
tournament hours will be permitted only from contestant's boat.
11. BOAT IDENTIFICATION: A contestant number must be available at all times during the tournament.
12. SCORING: Largemouth Bass, Kentucky Bass, and Smallmouth Bass will be counted. Total stringer weight per team will determine place. Any bass under (15)
inches presented for weigh-in will cause two (2) pounds to be subtracted from the total weight, plus the loss of the short fish. Any Bass dead when presented for
weigh-in (as determined by tournament officials) will cause .50 lb. to be subtracted from total stringer weight for that day. Five (5) fish limit per boat may be
weighed in. Any frozen, iced or mangled fish presented for weigh-in will result in immediate disqualification. Contestants must be in sight of their partners during
tournament hours and until they have weighed in. The GATOR GRIP Tournament ruler will be used as the official measuring device. Fish must be brought to the
scales in our official weigh-in bag.
13. PROTESTS: Protests must be filed, in writing, with the Tournament Committee within fifteen (15) minutes of the conclusion of final weigh-in.
14. TRUTH VERIFICATION: Each contestant may be subject to a truth verification test. Anyone failing to pass will be disqualified. Anyone refusing such test will be
disqualified.
15. TIES: All ties including Big Bass awards will be broken/determined by earliest starting Position.
16. CHECK-IN LATE PENALTY: Teams who are not at the 0fficial check-in area at the appointed time will be penalized 1 pound per minute, up to 10 minutes then
disqualification, from the total weight including any weight to be counted towards a Big Bass Award. NO EXCUSES. All participants must check-in regardless of
any fish caught or not caught. BREAKDOWN: Should a tournament craft break down, one member of that craft's team may bring in the catch, but it must be from
another contestant's boat and they must verify your catch. All fish should be marked and kept separate from the boat helping you out. All contestants must be
checked in on time even in case of breakdown - no exceptions.
17. CANCELLATION: Tournament cancellation will result in 100% of money refund. No refunds will be made for any other reasons.

SPRING OPEN – JUNE 8, 2014: We have read and understood the rules and enclose the completed application and our entry fee payable to: MARK TWAIN
BASSMASTERS. In signing this application, we hereby waive and release all other contestants, sponsors, host club and tournament officials from all claims for injury
and/or damage incurred in connection with this tournament. Entry constitutes permission to usewinners' names and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes.
Receipt date of entry determines starting position. Cash, check or money order must accompany this form to qualify for tournament entry. NO POSTDATED CHECKS
WILL BE ACCEPTED.
